Kept getting server timed out with above map. Was getting killed soon as I entered the map.. Not fun

....I found a solution on the net that worked for me. I just recently upgraded my PC, "ghosted" my old HD to a new one, and suddenly KP absolutely would not work. Uninstall/reinstall did not help. So, I found a post by a dude named nevok01 on THIS FORUM and "voila, easy money". As it turns out, KP simply will not run on some of the newer, higher end cards. The solution...

Man I can't beleive peeps are still fragging around in Kingpin. I'm gonna have to dig out my copy and install again. I loved this game haven't come across another multiplayer game thats anything close to what Kingpin was. Course I'm sure that none of the clans or players that were playing back when I was are still around , like my clan K-9 The Frag Dawgs.

Hi all.

After a f#$king long wait, Deefa is running his server again, which is great news for any AU/NZ players still hunting for a game.

I have only got 256kbit upload, which will limit the server to 5 or 6 players, but 5 is better than none!.

I hope to see you in there some time.

After seeing Mr Damage's post the other day about running one of the KP4EVER servers with a "bot", I came up with an idea for a fun MOD. i have had great time in kingpin and lots of fun doing maps for kingpin over the years but sadly its coming to an end
i can no longer see very good anymore to the point were can't edit or make maps much anymore there few maps left am finshing up on
these be last maps i do for kingpin so if anybody want to use or convertt some my maps to other games and stuff it cool with me

kicked becasue the client timedout

I get kicked off some servers after only a shortwhile, usually less than a minute.
I have mmclient installed.
Vita's coop server is ok forme, but others are not.

Error message:
"Toma is being kicked becasue the client timedout
Toma was kicked
you were kicked from the game"

in the run up to being kicked I can play just fine.

Playing Downloaded Versions of KP on Monkey Mod Servers

This is how to play online in servers running the Monkey Mod using the GoG.com downloaded version of KP. I assume it would work for the Steam and GameTap versions as well but haven't tried it as I don't own those versions.

I have heard and read that ppl have trouble getting into the Kingpin servers to play online when using the GoG.com version of KP.
I have just installed the GoG version on a PC and attempted to join a server....

is there ever gonna be a fix for the opengl hack error?
the reason the servers are empty is no one can join.
i've tried to join detropolis a bunch today no luck i even tried running in 3dfx.

Wow. I can't believe after all this time Kingpin still has enough of a gathering to still host it's own website, let alone still have it's own dedicated servers for mulitplayer and what-not!
I have to admit I only came across Kingpin through sheer luck, (through a pirate copy, I hang my head in shame, and never completed the whole game, even now!) but still regard it as one of my favourite games. Ever.
I will (eventually) complete Kingpin for the first time soon and hope...

Mr D you posted this on the webpage and said it was Aussie PC Mag. Do you know if that is that only a special edition for over there or do they run the same promo everywhere? in other words have you heard if it can be had in the US also?

my gfx drivers are I think causing this error when i join server
Not sure what I can do about it.

Both comps have the same problem. ATI cards. One with Omega drivers other with latest possible ATI drivers.

Howdy all, i just got my kingpin and was playing online last night wit Vitachick and Shockwave i think, the ping is terrible so i was wondering would some really sexy person please make a server for aus ppl and cool US ppl to hang out on or stuff. Vitachick said there were a few Aus ppl and if so atleast one server should be awesomesauce enough

According to in-game console command port, the value is 31510 UDP.

Also in config.cfg file the port value is 31510.

Also in the readme.txt it explains how to create multiple dedicated servers, and states the default server port is 31510 UDP.

Please can you add Kingpin: Life of Crime details to your website.
